Marstrand is located about 50 km northwest of Gothenburg (Göteborg).
By air:
Nearest airport is the Gothenburg Landvetter airport which is the western Swedens international airport with flights to about 80 international destinations.
From Landvetter airport to Marstrand you will find buses going to Gothenburg city and from Gothenburg to Marstrand.
At the airport there are also a number of rental car companies.
By car:
Coming from south, a very convenient way is to take to the Stena Line ferry from Kiel to Gothenburg or drive through Denmark and take either the bridge from Copenhagen to Malmö or the ferry from Helsingör to Helsinborg.
From Gothenburg: Get on highway E6 north, direction Oslo. Drive about 20 kilometers north, to the city of Kungälv. Just after the bridge, directions to Marstrand lead you off the highway. Follow country road 168 west to Marstrand another 25 kilometers, and you will end up at Marstrand.
From the north: Take the E6 south to Kungälv. Get off the highway just before the bridge and follow country road 168 west to Marstrand.
